The Barrabool Christian Foundation was formed in 2005 from the proceeds of the sale of surplus land by the Barrabool Hills Baptist Community Church in Geelong, Victoria. The Church sought ways to use this God given opportunity to support work that would express the holistic ministry of Jesus Christ. By establishing a fund that would continue to generate income for years to come, this support would be available for future generations as well.
The Foundation is an extension of the church’s ministry and is governed by a Board of Trustees, most of who are drawn from the Church’s membership. The Church has also worked closely with the Baptist Union of Victoria in establishing the Foundation.
The Board has a passion to both advance the gospel and help those in need. As it seeks to direct the money out into the community and abroad, it also desires an active engagement with those working in their communities. Ultimately, the hope is for the positive transformation of peoples’ lives and the achievement of that which is of eternal value.
