Last year grants were given to Foundation 61, The Union of Evangelical Students of India, Rhema FM and various Geelong hospitals to assist their chaplaincy ministry.
Foundation 61 - $60,000
Foundation 61 is a live-in community which provides a holistic approach to individuals dealing with life controlling issues – issues which are often, but not exclusively, are associated with the use of drugs and alcohol. The goal is to provide the resources and life skills that will enable individuals to rebuild their broken lives. Foundation 61 also engages with and participates in disadvantaged communities in order to strengthen those communities and create better places to live.
96.3 Rhema FM - $45,000
This local Christian radio station received a grant to upgrade the main studio. Replacing the 14 year old equipment was critical to the viability of the ministry as most of it was no longer technically supported and/or serviceable. The refurbishment project involved installing new mixer, distribution amps, control and monitoring equipment and cabling. The result has been a vastly improved quality and reliability of broadcast plus increased efficiency of man hours in the studio.
The Union of Evangelical Students of India - $30,000
UESI is a ministry to university students and TAFE colleges right across India. It has a mission field of over 100 million people served by 200 staff. UESI own the Highfields conference centre. The centre is used almost exclusively for the training of students and graduates. A grant was made available to complete Phase One of a redevelopment of the site that increased the site from a conference centre of 50 to conference facilities of 200 delegates and accommodation for 90.
